Different approach to render, like a still life painting. Your use of dim vintage colors, adds up to the feeling.
If this is his younger size appetite, judging from that bite from the apple, I can't imagine his appetite when he grows his full adult size.

A very beautiful composition.
I find your countering of expectation (specifically as it relates to the relative size of dragons and also the high level of interest being expressed by the dragon, which almost always portrayed as a carnivore, in a piece of fruit) particularly creative and delightful. I don't know if those were conscious choices or instinctive ones, but the idea of a tiny dragon protecting and salivating over an apple tickles me. Thanks.

Fri, Jan 26, 2024haha!! my dog has often inspired my dragon renders, and in thinking of dragons in those terms, they would then eat and covet anything in sight (goodness knows my dog would sell his little soul for apple), so i thought it would be a different and interesting way to portray a typically huge and terrifying creature i'm so very glad you like how it turned out - THANK YOU!!
