In the year 2054, an ambitious venture unfolded as the world government sought to breathe life into the legendary dragons. They embarked on a project named CLOKKWORK, mass-producing mech dragons by the hundreds and dispersing them globally. Some dragons were equipped with mounts, allowing soldiers to perch upon their backs and operate turrets, while others were programmed to function autonomously through artificial intelligence.
Due to an error in the system database, it didn't take long for these mechanized dragons to attain self-awareness, evolving into sentient beings. Surprisingly, the mech dragons began exhibiting behaviors reminiscent of the mythical dragons that once soared in ancient tales. Some modified themselves to emulate the powers of the most powerful dragons in history, such as wielding lightning and spewing fire.
In an unforeseen twist of fate, many dragons adapted by incorporating stolen nanotechnology, rendering themselves virtually indestructible. The nanotech regenerated wounded areas, healing damage inflicted by enemy forces.
In 2055, these sentient dragons had declared war upon their creators- the world government.
