The Jade Emperor, adorned with the full moon of the Lunar New Year as his Longpao, visited me in a dream last night and instructed me:
"Shai Lung Wu Xing, Son of Heaven, 2 horned 5 claw Emperor of the chosen dynasty, divine protector of all clans west of the Eastern Seas. I have a quest for you. Gather up your newborn grandson and travel west to the dividing rivers. Cross the shifting plains and continue to the Kunlun Mountain. Stay in the southern valley of the mountain and continue west. Watch every sunset for, when you see the Phoenix cross the setting sun, you must bathe in the invigorating waters of the Pool of life, that flows before you. Rest on the banks of the stream, facing the mountain."
"There, the Pole star will reveal a mountain pass that will take you north into the bowels of Kunlun Mountain. You will know when you have found the Eastern path that will lead you to the summit. Follow it. On the morning after the Lunar Year's first New Moon, you shall reach the summit. At the summit, cleanse yourself and your grandson in the invigorating waters of the Pool of life, before wading through it, to the Dragon Gate. Step through the Dragon gate and wait on the inner threshold. When the first morning sun after the New Moon of The Lunar Year illuminates the inner Dragon Gate threshold, The Wood Dragon will present its majestic self, and bathe you and your grandson in an aurore of cleansing light, and bless the New Son of Heaven."

I battled so much with this render. I've recently lost RAM and my aging pc crashed too many times to count. I eventually had to render the image in 3 parts and blend them together in PS. Almost makes one want to stop 3D art altogether.
Good hope for the challenge, everybody.

Mon, Feb 05, 2024Thank you Beautiful'. Hopefully that image will show in the gallery before long. and not the wireframe. I posted the side texture view for better understanding of how big the dragon is. You can't really judge from the front view. I was also taking a big chance doing a silhouette and not getting a flat image with the lighting coming from behind but I needed the Chinese Emperor and grandson to summit the mountain facing the east, into the sun. Very oriental such as the Japanese emblem of the rising sun. Considering that it is the Chinese New Year of the dragon, I wanted to try and squeeze as much of an oriental feel from the image as I could.
