Battle for Dragon Bone Bridge (CLOSED)

As I post this entry it is a fail. The big fx plane ruining a great render is obvious. I'm not bad in post and 28 days to go I can always do another render of 23hours. Maybe Split the render into 3 layers and pull some focus. So here is mark one of
"Battle for Dragon Bone Bridge".
I wanted to make a classic dungeons and dragons style image.
Inspired by my English teacher at school many, many, years ago. In memory of Mr Medway. Age 13 is was a wild child. Mr Medway was an English teacher that was also an illustrator for adventure 2000 comic and Judge Dredd. He turned my life around and was a great male role model. He taught me airbrushing, listened to me when there was no one else. He inspired me to do more with my life and together we painted an epic mural that inspired a generation or two that went to that crappy school. I wanted to paint the Dragon and coat of arms but Mr Medway had other plans for me. I had to paint the mechanical hand that Wrote the words English Department in perfect Italic.
It wasn't as exciting as drawing the dragons but I reluctantly focused on the task and presented the main feature in the mural.
10 years passed and I became a teacher, I realized that hands are notoriously the thing painters find hardest to get right. Mr Steve Medway had taught me well and I returned to the school excited to see him and tell him of my artistic ventures. Sadly he had passed away very young.
So this one is for you Steve. For inspiring a young kid to follow his dreams, for all the expensive books you lent me about airbrushing, dungeons and dragons , Judge Dredd and 80s glamor art. For sharing a sneaky smoke and taking the time to listen. You got me out of that dump mate.

Well done Mr Medway. You touched the heart of a wild child and gave them direction. Hats off. Well done Bonj!

Tue, Feb 20, 2024Yes he was a good bloke. I was just one kid in one class for a couple years. I didn't spend a lot of time at school until he showed up
He helped a lot of kids I reckon.
I'm going to redo this with the artist hand holding a brush finishing the picture off. Leave a little unpainted at the edge.

Thu, Feb 22, 2024More of a tribute to your teacher with you painting it from the outer edge. Nice. You're felling it!
