Eye of the Dragon (CLOSED)

The dragon's lair is filled with treasures of all sorts, from all over the world, with some dating back to more than a thousand years ago. There are so many precious and powerful items there, it would take a team of historians, scientists, alchemists and mages years to catalog them all. But the dragon's most prized possession lies in the middle of all of it, standing on a pedestal among all the hoard around it. The most magical and powerful jewel of them all: the Eye of the Dragon gem. When the dragon activates it with her fiery breath, it can show her anything she desires, anywhere in the world, and at anytime past, present or even in the future. She sits patiently in her lair, waiting for the right time to go forth and take by force what she feels is rightfully hers - the horrible world that hates and fears her.

Well done treasure keeper.
'According to Greek mythology, Dragons were created by the gods to watch over the treasures. They were chosen for this duty because they were (and still are) considered the most fearsome beasts. This is why Dragons hoard gold, gold is an object thats value is derived from the common belief in it's value, it is a symbolic placeholder. By surrounding themselves with wealth Dragons can leech this belief energy to feed themselves'.
'In many cases dragons may just like owning precious things the same as anybody else, while in other cases the hoard may serve as a very long life's worth of trophies and mementos or as an elaborate mating or power display by symbolizing the dragon's personal success and might'.
My best wishes with your work.

Thu, Mar 14, 2024Thanks!!! I've never heard that particular story, a very interesting take on why dragons hoard treasure. I like the idea of them feeding off of the energy.
