If I'm observing correctly, more and more products are appearing lately with licenses that restrict their use! It is clear to me that I will not buy any products with these licenses because I want the opportunity to earn something with my images and possibly offer them for sale! So that I don't run the risk of using these products in a scene that I offer for sale, as I said, I will not purchase any of these products! If at some point there's almost nothing left that I want to buy, I'll probably leave Renderhub!
! REPORT
You should know one thing, when I put a product online by default the license is "Extended Use License (IP Restricted)" while I choose the default "Extended Use License".
When an administrator validates the product, the license then becomes that chosen by the seller.

Tue, Mar 19, 2024I didn't know that! So for new articles I would have to wait a bit until the correct license appears?

Tue, Mar 19, 2024I just looked at my store, curiously all my products are still "Extended Use License (IP Restricted)" but those of another seller with whom I collaborate dorothee237 all his products are "Extended Use"
If you have any doubts about the license of a product you want to buy, the best thing to do is to ask the seller, so you will have proof of the license you hold if the license changes some time later!

I see almost all of your products have the Extended Use License (NOT IP Restricted).
The only ones I see with the IP Restricted License are the ones that should, like your McDonald's outfits.
If you are seeing something different on your end, please let me know.

As I had done a survey on 3 objects from my store which are part of the list I deduced something wrong!
it's curious for the following models they are in Ip Restricted when we display the details and they are in Extended Use License when we look at the store page

Tue, Mar 19, 2024Those products have the IP Restricted License because of the trademark (like McDonald's).
On your main store page, that is just an item summary and will only say Personal Use License or Extended Use License.
The full details are available on the product page.

Wed, Mar 20, 2024Thank you for this information which proves my ignorance about licenses

@AlfRaMusic -
@guy91600 is correct. Since RenderHub is an open marketplace, products appear as soon as they are submitted by vendors.
Products with an IP restriction cannot be sold without that license, so it must be the default. A reviewer will assign the correct license.
If you ever have a question about the license for a product, feel free to shoot a message to Support for confirmation.
It's possible the reviewers haven't gotten to that one yet.
Sorry for the confusion.

Tue, Mar 19, 2024Thank you Foxy 3D! I will contact support, when I want to buy something!

Some customers contacted me for the same reason (IP Restricted Product). They wrote and reached out to me that they can not buy my product because is IP Restricted. At first, I was confused and I contacted support so they could help me understand better the situation... however (IP-restricted) items are there for a reason.
Until the item is safe to sell it will remain IP Restricted (The reviewer or beta tester needs to test it first etc.)
I hope I helped some of you guys!
Kind Regards
AxeMaker

I recently made a purchase here, and did not notice the licensing section until after purchase. The main reason I had not noticed was because the author of the item had already included licensing information at the bottom of their listing, which states:
"Information about Usage Rights:
You can use this product freely in any kind of renders, commercial or non commercial.
You are not allowed to share this file or any parts of it on a peer to peer network for other people to download.
You are not allowed to use any part of this product for your own commercial products.
You are not allowed to give it away as a gift.
The content of this package may not be redistributed, sold, or copied in any way."
The issue with this statement is that my purchase history shows I have a Personal License which would indicate I may not use the purchases in any form of commercial purposes.
Section V.1.C of the Personal License states:
"Scope of Use. The Personal Use Only license permits only non-commercial use of the Digital Asset. This means that the Digital Asset may not be used in any way that involves an exchange of money or consideration, that promotes a business (including a sole proprietorship), that consists of advertising in any medium, or where financial gain or other consideration is either sought or is a result, directly or indirectly, of Licensee's use of the Digital Asset."
So at this juncture, who do I believe? The license directly conflicts with the author/sellers listing's permissions, which states that I may use the product in any kind of render for commercial purposes. If I am to abide by the personal license which is in direct conflict with the listing information, I would hope this item qualifies for a refund or hope I am entitled to an updated license allowing me to use it for commercial purposes since it is entirely misleading (falsely advertised), to sell an item stating in one place it may be used for commercial purposes but giving the purchaser a license which restricts such usage.
If I'm misunderstanding something somewhere please accept my humblest apologies, and if you would, a brief explanation.

Thu, Apr 18, 2024Vendors are not supposed to add legal terms to their product descriptions, for this very reason.
The license IS "the license", and they can't write something in the description that contradicts that.
From your purchase history, I can see what vendor and products you're talking about.
They should not have done that.
So we can have this properly documented, please send a message to Support.
https://www.renderhub.com/info/contact-support
Issues like these are usually forwarded to me, so I'll most likely be the one responding to you.
If you wouldn't mind, please send a message to the vendor, so they understand the problem from the customer's point of view.
I will also be reaching out to the vendor to explain why they can't do this, and to find out what their actual intentions are for the use of their products.
I also need to work with our coder on this.
It appears this vendor has a lot of products with conflicting descriptions, and we'll need to have them all changed.
Our coder will probably need to do a batch change.

Thu, Apr 18, 2024"...I would hope this item qualifies for a refund or hope I am entitled to an updated license..."
Yes. One way or the other, we'll take care of you.
After we determine the vendor's intentions, we'll make the appropriate license adjustment or issue a refund.
"...please accept my humblest apologies..."
No apology is needed. That's what we're here for.
In fact, please accept MY apology for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused.
I'll make sure you are taken care of, and that the issue is resolved so it doesn't inconvenience anyone else.
I will await your Support message so we can continue with the resolution there.

Thu, Apr 18, 2024In the future, please don't hesitate to contact Support directly for issues like this.
Nobody from RenderHub staff saw your message here, but another caring user contacted me to let me know.
They (correctly) figured I would want to get involved.
