The clouds/smoke/soap bubbles...are made with vdb shaders. The cross light is a very tiny box with a cutout and point light inside. A total of 2 spotlights, 1 point light, and 8 emissive points were used. Postwork was done to add a slight grain back to the final image and a black and white gradient map overlay at low opacity to make the shadows slightly deeper.
Fingers crossed (no pun intended) that no one finds that counting towards inappropriate on the religious imagery. I hadn't really considered it - which is weird since I grew up as a preacher's kid - until after there were too many hours sunk into it to drop it. So giving it a shot anyway!
If it gets disqualified, I completely understand.
