Hi guys! Masamune here.
As a vendor i was thinking maybe these 2 features could help us vendors in a future update:
1 - Confirm you are uploading a free item:
When we are uploading products the "Free" flag is always active before we put the price, i think it would be nice when if you keep the flag checked and click to submit the product the website asks you if you have sure that you're uploading a free product, if yes, ok, if no, you can go back and fix it. I know we have to concentrate and have attention when we are uploading a product but i believe that would help us to don't make a mistake and only notice later.
2 - Download your own products:
I think this feature would be very helpful. For example, if you lost your files or you're not using your own computer and need the files or even if you want to compare your product's versions, you could just re-download them here. It could be a simple "download" button right to the "edit price" button on the "Product Manager" for example.
What you guys think?

I think these are two interesting and practical features, I would even add another one:
3 - the automated sending of a message when an administrator declines a product
3 - the automated sending of a message when an administrator declines a product

The system *should* be doing that. I opened a bug report to have the coders look into it.

Migrate to new modern forum software where you can quote others and the post order is actually logical.
Take a look at the Reallusion or Daz forums for examples.

Wed, Jul 31, 2024I participate in a 3D Poser forum that's been around for decades, and even it has more features than this one.

Thu, Aug 01, 2024There are many requests for additional forum features. I know there are plans for an upgrade, but I don't know when.
I have added your feedback to our internal notes on the topic.

I would like to add a suggestion as well.
We have the possibility to add a render to a product we've bought.
But when I scroll through the store, there are many without customer renders, but I bet, there are some render to find in the galleries.
So why not adding a render automatically to a product, like it's done at renderosity, the same moment, one adds which product(s) have been used.
I think this could help to increase the sales for the products and so help the vendors earning a bit more money.

Tue, Jul 30, 2024And then cue a possible explosion of product renders where I tagged a product but wasn't prominent enough in said render for me to pop in that product's render scroll. LOL
Oh, and some where I probably forgot to include that render there.
I guess the tricky thing there would be maturity filters. For some products it wouldn't be an issue, but for others things could get a bit complicated.

Tue, Jul 30, 2024Well, if nudity is tagged, I think it either wouldn't show on the product page or would be blurred out as it does in the gallery

Thu, Aug 01, 2024I think this is a great idea. As I know this is the case for many of our product renders. As a seller we also get the option to remove what we do not want there anyway.
So if for example, a vendor had a line of nudes enter the product gallery and they didn’t want that to be the case, they just need to hit the little red x in the images top corner

Thu, Aug 01, 2024This is a great idea, and there is already an open feature request for this. Thanks for the feedback!
Downloading your own product (or at least being able to see what file you uploaded) has been on the suggestion list for quite a while now.

Thu, Aug 01, 2024We really would like this feature. One day something will go wrong and there is only so much backing up one can do. Would be great to see this implemented!

1.) It's weird to me that the default is "free", this option should be opt-in rather than opt-out for example. So pen me up for a yes to your suggestion.
2.) Likewise it is weird to me that we can't download our own files. I can do that over at Rendo. I have one asset left over there, it's a collaboration. Went up 11 years ago. I can still download the zip files. It's not like there needs to be separate server space for a copy that only the owner can access. We can download something we've bought at any time, for it to work on our own assets the devs need only to enable that for the owner. Flag it as purchased or something. Even over at the Fantasies marketplace, if I win something in a contest I am sent a link to my own folder on an FTP server, containing the assets I won. And that's more complicated than what we're asking for here.

Wed, Jul 31, 2024Thanks for your comment Pinspotter!
1 ) Thank you so much!
2 ) Yeah one time i had a problem with my HD so i lost some products i made, luckily i could re-download them too. I believe that would help us, and like you said, maybe the products we uploaded and even the collab ones could be added to our downloads like as we purchased them

"... 1 - Confirm you are uploading a free item ..."
The way you describe is similar to the way it is *supposed* to work. You should click the "Free" box to confirm a zero-price item.
Thank you for pointing out that it's not working right. I have opened a bug report so we can get that fixed.
"... 2 - Download your own products ..."
There's a reason why you cannot do that. It's for your protection.
Should someone gain access to your email account, they could reset your RenderHub password and gain access to your account.
Gaining access to your RenderHub account would get them nothing, since your files are unavailable for direct download.
I'm pretty sure the owner was assuming vendors had a backup drive plan in place.
I know he meant for this to be a security benefit rather than an inconvenience.
If this really is a problem, I can ask him if he will reconsider.
FYI - If you do need to download a product, Support can provide you with a courtesy copy. All you need to do is ask.

Thu, Aug 01, 20241 - Oh, cool! Thanks Foxy!
2 - Now that you said it, i never saw that way and i believe you're right. Personally I don't think it's too inconvenient, it would just be an additional feature so we could access the files by ourselves and not add more tickets to support, but as the security of the vendor's files is on the matter, maybe it's better leave that way. Maybe if the vendor lost their files it's better ask the support then, but that's just my opinion
But now i was just thinking, if someone for example gain access to a vendor's account and he\she wants to download their files or even cause damage on purpose, they could put the products as free and download them as they change live :/
How about block the product to be free after you added a price and only change that after asking the support?

Well, yep... There goes that "security feature". LOL
Great... Now I'll be having an interesting conversation with the owner.
But really - thanks for pointing that out.

Fri, Aug 02, 2024In my opinion, asking support doesn't change anything since the message is sent using RenderHub's internal messaging system. How can support know whether it's the user who created the account or the hacker?
The only benefit I can see is to delay the possibility of downloading, so that the account creator can report that the account has been hacked.

Fri, Aug 02, 2024Thanks for your opinion guy91600, now that you mentioned it, i wonder if they can see the location or at least the country someone sent them a message, if that's possible i think what the support could do is before giving the files, see if the user's location is the same they always use or at least close, that way they could confirm if it's the same user.

Sat, Aug 03, 2024In the tech world we call the solution, "two-factor authentication". Even Gumroad has it, for pete's sake.
