One question, what are the rules regarding nudity? In my case my breasts are exposed.

For the contest, there is no rule that forbids nudity. In fact, some previous contest winners had images with mild nudity.
In any case, we do recommend that people keep their submissions as "family-friendly" as possible.

How do you exactly define post work in PS or any image enhancement software? My pipeline always involves PS or ON1 Effects most of the time. Is that allowed? Are photoshop brushes and additional effects for better image not allowed?

Fri, Sep 27, 2024The only thing that is NOT allowed when it comes to editing is the use of generative AI, that's usually forbidden from what I read.

The character would be edited in Blender and the composition and final rendering would also be done in Blender.

Deliverables: "Generative AI of any kind is not allowed"
Disqualification: "AI-generated art is not allowed as any part of contest submissions"
My interpretation of the rules would be:
There's nothing that forbids the use of Generative AI for *reference photos*.
You should *not* post those images, as they would be part of your deliverables and contest submission.

Fri, Nov 15, 2024Me too! I was hoping for a timely announcement, but I was just notified there is a delay. It sounds like it will be soon though...
Unfortunately, the announcement of the Horrific Render Contest winners has been delayed.
The finalists have been chosen, but the winners still need to be decided.
I'm just the messenger and will have no further information until then.
We hope to have the winners announced soon, and they will be posted as soon as possible.

Sat, Nov 16, 2024Thank you for the update on the contest. Glad to hear that the finalists have been chosen and it's still going to be decided. 
It just means we all did too good work, and the judges are having to make a difficult choice! For us, it is a good and a bad thing, LOL! I would hate to be a judge on here as not only do you have to judge the artwork itself but also look into the depth the artist created the work. It has got to be tough!
