New Daz Update and Nvidia (CLOSED)
136In case you didn't get the note from Daz or didn't read it... they advise that it is NOT in line with Nvidia drivers....
IE: you install it, your Nvidia use may just giggle, laugh, get up and go to the potty and stay there.... and you'll
hear laughing and constant flushing as it pushes your water bill up and then guffaws as you try to use the program
as usual, and it crashes.
so, please, think first. Read the update info, check the links.... Nvidia is one. But their original post made sure to point
out that Nvidia drivers are NOT current with it. So, please, don't gank yourself and then have to do a backtrack.
Save yourself the headache... unless you've found a guaranteed way to ensure it works correctly.
And when nvidia DOES release a new update, make sure it addresses Daz.
So, there. Now get thee back to whatever the frack it was you weren't doing.... yes, I know you have a recording of work
noises playing on your rigs while you lolligag around watching ewwtooob, telegram, and .... well, if you're like me, throwing
darts at a trumpf dartboard.
Peace and pieces of eight!
Love, jAne

Nvidia will update its driver, it happens sometimes, especially with the D-Force simulation engine.
At worst go look in the Nvidia driver archives and try to find a compatible driver.

I agree, Nvidia WILL update it's driver, but... at this time the patch can go whoopsie on Nvidia
card owners. Now, going to the archives when we already have the latest and most compatible
driver... imho is maximum use. Are you suggesting we "try" the patch regardless of issue and then run
to the archives for an Nvidia update? That's kinda silly... I don't want to backtrack on Nvidia drivers, or
try to determine what driver is compatible with ... well, a new Daz patch that isn't even relevant to
older patches. I don't mean to sound ... all of that but... no, that's illogical. You keep your newest and
working nvidia drivers that have served you well in ALL the uses you have... daz.. games... simple rendering
of a desktop... cos they work. You do not just say well, hell, let's just install this Daz patch that I know
isn't compatible with my latest nvidia drivers and then I can spend a week reading forum posts about...
something that never was released at that time.
sorry but... you ruffled my dandruff.

Wed, Sep 18, 2024I know it's not funny, Nvidia will react quickly, as I said it's not the first time this happens. You can update your GPU driver to the best possible version of Daz and hop, D-Force engine that doesn't make the Kernels work or the Cuda that turns into a calf and multiplies the simulation time by 2...
I don't know if the Studio drivers are affected, I don't even know what this update brings XD

Actually, I missed that and updated already. But I just posted the render I've been working on since yesterday, so I guess it's good.

I installed the latest DAZ update, and so far no issues with renders. My D-force simulations seem OK as well, though I keep them to a minimum, and as simple as possible.

Thu, Sep 19, 2024Thanks to the OP for the heads-up!
I just want to add that I haven't installed the NVIDIA update (I'm still running the previous Studio version). I'll wait for further word from DAZ before updating the NVIDIA driver.

Personally, when it comes to software, drivers, firmware and such things, I do not update often. Only when updating will fix something that was plaguing me, or open up a feature I want to use, or offer a serious performance boost. And if I am going to update, I usually wait a month and monitor the software forums for gamestopping bugs before doing so. If it aint broke, why try to fix it mentality lol. Especially from daz, and their pain in the ass practice of not giving us easy access to older builds.
