Hey all!
Starting my thread off for character number 2
Rumoured to have been accidentally caught up in one of Dr. M's failed food experiments, she was the "poor", late Dr. Cackleberry's retirement present from the wife. Now she's Dr. M's kick-ass sidekick.
Her name is Buns, and she's a bad ass b*tch that don't take (nor eat) no sh*t.

Just got the blocking out done so far, and about to start sculpting.

Wed, Sep 25, 2024Thank you so much! If I can capture even an *ounce* of my own dog's sass then I'll be happy :')
This sure looks like a cute beagle pooch and where did he managed to get that sink pump on the head. Good luck with your entry.

Wed, Sep 25, 2024Haha thank you so much! Although she's a sausage dog (dachshund) with a ketchup bottle lid on her head :') hopefully all will become clearer as I go!

Thu, Sep 26, 2024Thanks, as to clarify.
Yes, the ketchup lid would've been more prominent with some of the ketchup dripping, which you'll do in a later stage, I suppose.
''This dog is affectionately called a doxie, wiener dog, hotdog, or sausage dog, and this cute pint-size breed definitely leaves a lasting impression. The dachshund is bred as standard or miniature size, but the traits of this breed are similar for both, they tend to bark a lot compared to their small size''.

Thu, Sep 26, 2024Yesss you see the vision!
Oh that's cute, I didn't know they get called doxies... They're one of my favourite breeds, although I have a frenchie and a staffy myself.

Thu, Sep 26, 2024That's really nice, frenchy and staffy would keep good company.

Caution!!!!, maybe is better you pose the character in sculpt mode if you are familiar with this... i think you need read the lastest post in the foxy3d forum in this contests or my madamme lupanari post, the work in animation, rigging, topology , etc... etc... will not be considered in the contest. I tell you this so that you don't put more work than you consider necessary into something that is going nowhere

Fri, Sep 27, 2024Thank you so much for the warning! That was my reasoning with my other entry, I thought as it is a static photo competition it would make more sense to put my efforts and time into adding detail and sculpting, etc., but as I'm building my portfolio and skillset at the minute I thought I would take this on as a personal challenge to rig her!
But thank you, I really appreciate your warning, and I love Madamme Lupanari! I'm glad she got to dance, even if not for the competition :')

Fri, Sep 27, 2024Thank you for the advice! I've been going back and forth between whether they should be in the neutral "hang" position or out like this, I thought this might be easier to rig... but your advice is much appreciated and I'll adjust now

Fri, Sep 27, 2024I appreciate you both, you've most likely saved me a lot of faffing!

Test rigging (no weight painting yet).

And starting to sculpt and texture some details
