My first entry into the contest is a metaphor. While the Winter Wonderland is beautiful to witness.... it's also very cold. Mako, sitting with her gift in this inhospitable environment, is waiting and hoping to make amends to her lover. The weather is turning worse minute by minute and she is losing hope. Perhaps she will wait so long that hyperthermia sets in, followed by death.
A song that seems to perfectly capture the moment is "Storm Song" by Phildel you can listen to an acoustic version here:

It's supposed to lock it in. Jamie comes around and fixes them up during the contest for the ones that don't have the thumbnail.
