Ho Ho Holey Moley this thing is fast!
Santa wanted to do something different this year, so he had his elves turn his sleigh into a hot rod.
Final Image:

Assembled the Suit from different sources.
The sleigh I used Car parts from wild fantasy hot rod, and the grill is something mangled from a 32 ford.
The wheels are an off-road wheel with a dirty texture.
When you make the dirt white it looked like snow.
The snow covered tree was a freebie.
The houses I used a blender plug-in to cover with snow, then created a simple light in MODO and created an array to line different houses with lights.
The snow road uses a displacement map for it's depth, which is why the clay render and wireframe look like the car is in the road.
Rendered in Octane stand alone 4.05

Clay

Wireframe

For the snow spray from the rear wheels I made a simple "particle" consisting of the three polygons bisecting each other.

Then scattered them inside a torus to create a circular group of them.

The animated the circular group inside Daz Studio by spinning it on the x axis and exporting it as an FBX
When imported into Octane, it will apply some motion blur.

Then extend the size of group along the z axis in octane to make look like a longer arc.

Post work after rendering for, fixing issues, wheel spin, background motion blur, streaky motion effect, colour corrections.
Was basically finished the image, when I remembered to mirror it.
I don't know what other peoples process are like for creating images, but one of the things I do is mirror the image at some point just to see if it looks better.
The image looked better moving to the right.
So then I had to remake certain parts in reverse and render them so they would come out right.
I hope everyone has as much fun this holiday season as Santa does driving his hot rod.

Really funny!
I suggest you to post a thumbnail, since from the contest page the snow effect results to be the main pic. Good job tho!

I felt like Santa was driving back and forth with the first two mirrored pictures on top. Looks like Santa is enjoying his ride with his cool vehicle. An amusing render that is neat and pleasant. I wish you the best of luck with your impressive job.

Wed, Dec 11, 2024Ha your right.
The order I posted those images make it look like he's lost.
(Haven't we been down this street already?)

Co Co cooooool
Where can I get one of these
No more Santa coming down the chimney, hopefully he doesn't come crashing through the front door lol.
Very creative
Never thought of mirroring a image to see if it looks better. I'll have to try that, thanks
I think moving right is better
Nicely done

Wed, Dec 11, 2024I always seem to remember to try the mirror the image when I am almost finished working on a pic. (The worst time.)
Thanks again for your kind words.

First place doesn't deserve second place, it should be first, the jury is really bad, there are so many more beautiful ones for second and third place, but this really shouldn't be second place, it should be first place.

Thu, Jan 16Thank you for the kind words.
Personally, I think the first place image deserves first place.
I think it conveys a great feeling, is high quality and well made.
But everything is subjective.
You and I could look at 10 images in a gallery and have very different views on each.
Thanks again.
