New Year, New Product!

Hi there guys, and a Happy New Year to you all!
As promised, we hit the ground running in 2025, with two new products right out of the gate. As you'll have seen from my 3D Art Gallery entries, I have a couple of assets waiting in the wings, just chomping at the bit to come out.
First up, we have the stylish headwear that is the TALON V-Wing Pilot Helmet, ready and waiting to make your Daz 3D Pilot of choice look 100% more dapper. And then to beautifully complement this, we also have the TALON V-Wing Interceptor spacecraft vehicle. Both releasing on the same day. Ideal for hunting Galactic Space Pirates and banishing them from your space lanes with extreme prejudice with the help of a pair of very big wing mounted guns.
But why get one or the other, when together they make such a perfect pair? Which is why I've got them for sale as individual items, but have also made this pair of complementary assets available as a bundle, saving you a whopping $12 on the individual price for these items!
But enough of my Jibber Jabber. Here's some eyecandy. And the links to the product in question....
Enjoy!

Thu, Jan 02Thank you. Funnily enough, when I first came up with this design it was waay back when I was in school, towards the late 80's. I used to draw Star Wars comic books just for me as a kid. And this design originally came from that. So it might even pre-date the V-Wing Airspeeders from Dark Empire. If that's the design you're referring to. It definitely predates the Prequel movie version of a V-Wing.
This version is obviously a more recent take on the design. I took my original childhood concept and spruced it up a bit, gave it more details and obviously had to work out how it should be taken from 2D to a fully realised 3D asset. What I did like was, that despite the changes I'd made to make it a more sophisticated and more detailed 3D design, I still managed to keep the essence of that original sketch from all those years ago, while at the same time looking quite different.
I'll have to see if I can dig out that original sketch....

Thu, Jan 02Ha! Guilty in the first paragraph!
What you have there looks like a mix between that and the X-Wing. It's a look that fits, that's for sure.

Thu, Jan 02Good eye MKDAWUSS, when looking at redesigning the thing, I wanted to look at some sort of backstory that would inform the design somewhat. It had always been intended as a post Rebel Alliance/early New Republic design, as that was the era I was writing my comic book stories in. So the idea was that perhaps at this point, a lot of the old T-65B X-Wings were starting to get decommissioned, due to tired air-frames, wear and tear battle damage or whatever, and that while the majority of this hardware would just end up on the junk pile, some of these components could be salvaged, and that most likely the X-Wing's powerful engines would be a part that could see reuse. So New Republic engineers would look at what could be salvaged, and together with New Republic military tacticians, see what the New Republic fleet was lacking in terms of starfighter support. And so the V-Wing design was born. Making use of a pair of decommissioned T-65B X-Wing 4L4 Fusial Thrust engines mounted on a new space-frame which provided the fleet solid close starfighter support in a small cheap to put together package that, while it would not match the speed of an A-Wing, would still be one of the fastest ships in the fleet, with the additional benefit of high maneuverability, and a powerful suite of weapons at it's disposal. Being a new design there would of course be a few teething problems with the thing, and it can be a hard ship to tame, but when it works properly? It becomes an excellent addition to the fleet.
Here you go. Here's some comic art I did back in the very late 80's that features my V-Wing Starfighter in it's original form. Quite different, but also the same.
