Ningyo - Kanade
3D Render by eligodesignSometimes around 2014 I had a vision and an idea to create japanese mermaids based on ningyos (mythical human fish creatures). Ningyos are actually ugly, yokai like monsters. I was, however. not in the mood to create ugly monsters. instead, I have started to merge them with beautiful geisha/maiko characters and koi fishes. Back in time, I was mostly creating image assembling (photo manipulation) on DeviantArt. Koi Guardian and Minarai were the very first images created with model Fuchsfee Stock from DeviantArt.
Now that I have my koi fishes back, I have decided to use 3d characters and continue with my geisha-ningyo series in DAZ studio. I'm planning to work on many things like underwater world with temples and floral scapes. There are so many ideas "floating" through my mind and I hope to be able to realize them.
Kanade means to play instrument/music or to create a melody.
Headdress, shamisen and lotus leaves are modeled in Hexagon.

Wow, what a cool backstory! I love how you mixed the ningyo myth with geishas and koi fish. "Kanade" looks absolutely stunning!

That is very interesting to create the hair from koi. And I didn't know about the Ningyos and that they are very ugly. Prefer your version
