When I was a kid, we lived in a vacation spot.A place people from all around the world visited for just a couple of weeks. To many locals it might have seemed lucky, but we were barely getting by there. If it weren't for my dad's job, we wouldn't have been there at all. Even though it was tough overall, there were moments when we got treated to a free pool day thanks to my dad's friends. Getting in was free, but food wasn't allowed or it was too expensive for us to eat there so my mom would make burgers at home before we went, so us kids could eat and wouldn't pester her with constant requests for snacks at the hotel. I knew those burgers were nothing compared to the ones I saw in the hands of the foreign kids, but they still tasted amazing.
