Render Accelerator Studio v1.1 - Open Beta (DAZ 4.24)
3D Render by rendarThe Render Accelerator Studio v1.1 - Open Beta (DAZ 4.24) cut down on render time by 2/3rds in this example. Both images were rendered with 5000 samples in 4000x3489 resolution. Upon extreme closeup examination, AKA at the pixel level, the results are over 99% indistinguishable. There seems to be a bit of cleanup going on in the Render Accelerator version. I had the post-denoiser off in the pure DAZ render. Still, freckles, skin wrinkles in the hands, all remotely relevant textures are preserved in both versions. Lighting is completely unaffected and unchanged with this new rendering tool.
This is already a 10/10 product for use in DAZ 4.24. Everyone should keep a copy of that stable version as several plugins that 4.24 users own are only available by subscription in DAZ 6. We have been promised a version of this for DAZ 6 and I'm looking forward to this.
Additionally, I have not yet even engaged the DLSS 5 plugin. For those asking how a DLSS 5 extension can run on a program dedicated to DAZ 4.24, which cannot render with a RTX 50 series card that DSLL 5 typically requires, I had that question too and found an answer.
According to Gemini: "The setup completely bypasses the fact that DAZ 4.24 cannot natively talk to an RTX 50 series card, allowing older hardware to leverage DLSS 5 neural rendering benefits."
I can also confirm that the engine will auto-locate and run 2 cards at once if you have them.
Rendering at this speed and quality, along with long-awaited arrivals of other plugins that add things like facial motion capture and spring bones have me revisiting the prospect of using DAZ for video rendering. It has some unique features that Blender still does not posses. If a future version of Render Accelerator could render animations that could be truly game-changing.
Update: Lauren has shared the following details regarding how the new engine works. I have confirmed 100% that this is not a speed through denoising or step limit program, and it couldn't be because the results are too exact to the original renders. "Render Accelerator speeds up rendering by making more optimal use of the Iray engine and managing communication with your GPU more efficiently, allowing Iray to make fuller use of the available GPU resources during the render.
