Nona was young when everything went to hell. She grew up in a world gone mad. She survived with the help of her companions while they hunkered down in their makeshift shelters. When supplies ran out, they carefully went out scavenging for what they could find before quickly returning to their new home.

As their 'modern' civilization lay in ruins, the survivors eventually began to further explore the world around them. One morning as Nona and one of her companions, Lee Ann, began exploring to the south. After a bit Lee Ann began to hum a song.

"What is that?" Nona asked.

"Oh, it's an old song I used to hear on the radio back in the day," Lee Ann replied. "It was always my favorite. I can't remember all the words now, but one of the verses goes something like this..."

She paused, then began to sing.

"I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance...
I hope you dance"

"That's beautiful!" Nona told her.

Lee Ann grew silent as a tear began to fall down her cheek.
