Woodoo Feel
3D Render by renatodalleIt’s great to participate! It’s an excellent theme—actually, they’ve all been great, offering amazing ideas for building new 3D objects and projects.
For this piece, I wanted to tap into a reality that haunts everyone; it’s not fiction, and it can genuinely be frightening in our daily lives. Examples include the abandoned factory sheds, hospitals, schools, and old houses right here in our own city. To make matters worse, imagine visiting one of these places alone late in the afternoon, just as it’s getting dark. And to take it a step further: how would you feel if you were there and spotted a voodoo doll, lit candles, or jars—signs that someone has been there or frequents the place for something sinister? I’d run for the hills—what about you? Are there abandoned buildings in your city? Try it out and see if the fear kicks in. Haha.
The Project: Everything was created in Cinema 4D using polygons and PBR textures (ranging from 4K to 2K) with UV mapping. I aimed for a retro style for elements like the wheelchair, Gillette blades, matches, and so on. The rendering setup is physically straightforward but utilizes a wide variety of light types to create shadow effects, highlights, shading, noise, caustics, and specific tones.
If you liked it, please leave a like and reach out on the forum so we can exchange ideas—whether teaching or learning. I’m always happy to share my journey from the advertising world into 3D, a path I’ve been on for over 10 years. Best regards to everyone, and thanks for visiting.
