Project Immortality - Specimen 024
3D Render by Nikunj MourThis render is based on the idea of immortality and how horrific it can be. A famous jellyfish known as the ‘Immortal Jellyfish’ or the scientific name ‘Turritopsis dohrnii’ can revert itself back into its young form and relive all over again, thus theoretically being immortal.
In 'PROJECT IMT-TRPDHN', which stands for ‘Project Immortality Turritopsis dohrnii’, elderly patients are brought in and are injected with the DNA of the said jellyfish in order to find out ways that humans can achieve their long-lasting dream of immortality. The results, though, were not as expected and caused a series of failures which transformed old people into horrific mutants left to survive on their own.
The specimen number 024 in this render was one of those tragic patients who had his head reverted back to being a child’s head but swelled so much that the frail old body cannot handle its weight. The patient’s eye popped amidst all of this, and to make sure that the fluids stay inside, they had to sew it shut. This project was shut down and the entire facility was closed, until an urban explorer found his way in and came face to face with 024.
Immortality, no matter how amazing it sounds, can never truly be achieved; everything must go back to where it came from, and even the jellyfish who are considered immortal eventually die.
Made entirely using Blender.
A few elements, like the tattoo and ink bleed, were made using Figma.
No generative AI was used.
Hope you enjoyed my submission and the story behind it.
Thank you.

Sat, Oct 31Sorry, my sense of humor can be pretty hardcore sometimes—like how Specimen 024 looks like a big baby. I’m being ironic and a bit sarcastic; if babies really looked like that, it would probably be tough to want to have a child given our current standards.
I love your work. I recently learned how to use Blender, and from what I can tell, you’ve really mastered it
And I have a lot to learn from you.
And since I’m French, I use DeepL to translate—my phrasing is probably clumsy, on top of my offbeat humor and the cultural differences
Just know that I think your work is remarkable and well executed.

Sat, Oct 31I get it, I didn't mean that your comment doesn't relate to the render, I meant that your comment didn't relate to me as I never had thought about "being a father". And thanks a lot for appreciating my work, even if you have started doing blender recently, I'm sure you will achieve great results in the near future. Thanks and all the best!
