Haley's Hair - There is a reason

If you're following along, you might have seen that Haley has sported a couple different hair styles. The reason for this is not easy for her to talk about because it's actually a medical issue she's had since she was a child called Alopecia Areata.

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune skin disease that attacks the hair follicles, and in most cases it causes hair loss of the scalp and sometimes the entire body. Haley, unfortunately, suffers from Alopecia Areata and has not had natural hair since she was young. Since she's had it since her childhood, she's come to accept it, but she doesn't like to go out in public without one of her wigs.

So now you know. Haley has an autoimmune disease called Alopecia Areata that has caused hair loss since she was young. Maybe one day she'll have the confidence to walk around in public without one of her wigs, but it'll probably take quite some effort for her to be brave enough to do it.
