Probably the finest example of pure SciFi was Kubrick's
2001. The film's climax was so surreal, it leaves a lasting impression.
In the film, Kubrick showed the Pod come to rest in an ornate hotel suite.
The alien presence that transported Bowman drew this place from one of his
memories. In this piece, I wanted to show Dave Bowman's Pod land in a
place drawn from another memory. This being with his favorite car back home
many thousands of light years away. Perhaps one of his "comfort zones."
This could not have been done without Alvatar's beautiful EVA Pod model.
