Death of the USS Oklahoma
3D Render by gimleyEarly in the morning of December 7th 1941, the Oklahoma begins to capsize, her side ripped open by multiple torpedo hits. Eventually she rolls over burying her superstructure in the mud of the harbor. Many survivors remained trapped in her flooded hull, surviving for 2 days before being pulled from the wreckage. 429 others where not so lucky. Although righted and re-floated in June of 1943, she would never fight again.

Very nice. Shame nobody makes a B5N - that poor Zeke would have difficulties with an aerial torpedo
Detail on the A6m is pretty good - interesting that they got the color pretty close on the upper surfaces which is rare though it should be overall on this early airframe and the squadron medallion shouldn't be present. . Like the lighter tone on the control surfaces as colors tend to be lighter on fabric. Is that some sort of modern NZ registration beneath the horizontal stab?
A6M was beautifully proportioned. Bet it was fun to d fly at low speeds....

Thu, Dec 08, 2022I'm guessing the vendor used a museum aircraft as the model. I didn't want to change it as it's so well done. They offer additional texture pack but nothing that was time frame spot on. There are some really good ones here too, but they are way outside my price range. Here's the link for this one. https://www.daz3d.com/zeke-military-aircraft

Fri, Dec 09, 2022Thanks gimley - had this Zeke in the wish list a bit. I've seen some of the really expensive models - like you said, good but way too expensive.

Sat, Dec 10, 2022If you're looking for the zero I used it's on Renderosity. https://www.renderosity.com/rr/mod/bcs/mitsubishi-zero-for-daz-studio/152866
It's not as detailed, but it's a decent model. The vendor has some cool stuff, and reasonably priced.

Sat, Dec 10, 2022Sounds good. There's some good aircraft in DAZ also though the ME109 and FW190 had their national markings removed,, likely foe socio-political reasons....
