They smell funny, they eat everything that is not a stone, and they fart. And we have not spoken yet about their mounts. But in a desert you would not want to be without either of them.

I have walked across the desert in Saudia years ago. Not much sand (Rammel) there, mostly stone and it is cold at night, down to 4-5 deg. Daytime has more then 40 in the shadow, but the Shadow is only under your feets smile
