Finally watched all of Star Trek Picard season 3. All I can say is .. what a difference it makes when you've got a writer and showrunner in charge who actually gives a crap about the thing he's writing for. The previous 'new Trek' shows have been utter garbage so far .. but I gotta say that I was impressed with STP season 3.
It's not about wanting 'more of the same' .. it's about wanting respect for the characters, and the universe they inhabit.

And as a jaded Trekkie and nerd, I never thought I would be once again inspired by a Starship that wasn't the Movie Enterprise (no .. the REAL movie Enterprise!) and yet .. the Titan / Enterprise G, got me good.

So .. here's a little rendering I've spent FAR too much time on today when I should have been doing other work. I went and bought a sun (cuz I can do that) .. just to put in the background. There isn't actually a high-rex model of this starship just yet so this is a low -poly model that I've spent time doing some materials work on to make it look a bit more impressive.
Right .. it's 12:45am .. and I've REALLY gotta get on and do some work now 😛

....... time totally well spent though. I mean come on ... look at this! 😉

As I say .. I have modified it quite a bit so if you're interested to have a crack at it just bear in mind it is a low poly model and the textures do need some additional work.

I think we all owe Terry Matalas a big thank you for this very fine season of actual Trek. And we can be very happy that unlike Star Wars fans .. we really did get our fan service fulfilled. It ain't perfect .. but it'll do.

As for this ship? I gotta say I instantly took a liking to it. It's got those classic Starfleet lines. My favourite Enterprise is always gonna be the 'A'. .. but the 'G' .. is a close second.

This model needed a fair bit of work to bring it up to a satifsying standard but I think it came out rather well. I will be looking into applying more of the aztec'ing design to the hull..
