Blood Echoes of Nacán
In the deepest, most remote parts of the Amazon rainforest, places untouched by civilization, biologist Jackson Lee and his team sought out the mysteries of evolution. Their trek was strenuous but laden with the promise of discovery.
On the fourth day, Marco, the youngest member of their crew, ecstatically captured a monkey unlike any they'd seen. Its eyes were a fiery shade of red, and its cries resonated with an eerie tone. In his enthusiasm to document the creature, Marco got bitten. The wound was small but it bled profusely, painting his hands crimson.
By nightfall, the camp was a scene straight out of a nightmare. Marco's transformation was grotesque. His once cheerful eyes now bled, veins bulging, and his wound festered, oozing a dark, thick pus. Without warning, he savagely attacked Clara, tearing open her throat with his teeth, her blood splattering the tents and soaking the ground.
Panicked screams pierced the night as Marco, fueled by a primal hunger, lunged at another member, Hector, ripping chunks of flesh from his arm. The camp was a symphony of chaos, blood, and gore.
Jackson, Lucia, and Raj were the only ones left unscathed. Without a second thought, they ran, the haunting cries of their former team members, now turned grotesque predators, echoing behind them. The forest, once vibrant and full of life, now seemed to be painted in shades of red, the very ground sticky with fresh blood from their encounters with the infected.
In their desperate bid for survival, the trio stumbled upon the remnants of another camp. Corpses lay strewn, their insides torn out, attracting scavengers that feasted on the exposed entrails. The metallic scent of blood hung thick in the air.
Taking refuge in a nearby cave, the sounds outside were nightmarish: the guttural growls of the infected, the wet sound of flesh being torn apart, and the haunting silence that followed. Lucia, in a moment of despair, whispered, "This jungle has turned into a slaughterhouse."
When dawn's light finally pierced the dense canopy, the trio decided they couldn't hide forever. Armed with makeshift weapons, they fought their way through, every step a battle, every shadow a potential threat. Infected creatures lunged at them, their blood-lust evident, but Jackson, Lucia, and Raj met them with equal ferocity, their weapons slicing through rotting flesh, painting the leaves with gore.
It took them weeks, but they finally emerged from the jungle, scarred both physically and mentally. Tales of the Blood Echoes of Nacán spread like wildfire. Expeditions were banned, and the region became a symbol of nature's dark side: wild, unpredictable, and bloodthirsty.
