The other day I uploaded a wallpaper (the third image), while I was doing that I took a few test renders (all in 4k). Here are the test renders I took trying to find the right balance of the background aurora borealis and enough light on the subject whilre avoiding over saturation. I couldn't get the same effect for the close up with the only succesful render of the background, so I settled for an uneven mix of the background and foreground lighting.

I literally built up a 5 kmsq map so that the reflections would be accurate...and none of it can be seen, unless you expand the picture and study it carefully.
