Fireflies
3D Render by drjivagoFireflies whose shimmering, magical glows light up summer nights. You would be lucky to see them as they are rare in some habitats.

Very good scene. I see a maximum of 1-2 fireflies here throughout the whole summer.

Sat, Sep 21, 2024Thank you MR3D! In able to spot them, one has to be away from the city lights and be among the vegetation, as they tend to hide among the bushes sometimes.

''They typically love long grasses, marshy areas and regions near the edges of ponds, lakes, streams and other bodies of water. Depending on the species, they can thrive under low-hanging trees, in forests and fields, and even in your yard or vegetable garden. They prefer hot, humid climates''.

''European glow-worm and firefly species are in decline. Now, researchers from the IUCN Firefly Specialist Group have assessed the status of ten European species, using the IUCN Red List criteria. Half of these species are threatened with extinction. Two species, Lampyris pallida and Luciola novaki, are endangered, while three are deemed vulnerable''. ....--envirotec.

Thank you Dr. G., now I am completely enlightened.
Yes, I live right on the edge of the forest, which is why every now and then a European firefly finds its way onto our terrace. It is a shame, but again due to climate change, that these insects with autoluminescence are becoming increasingly rare in our country and are looking for new areas of distribution where the climatic conditions are more favorable for their survival.

Sun, Sep 22, 2024I think you might be lucky and grateful. You might even make a wish next time you see one.
''Fireflies are celebrated all over the world. They are found in art, literature, and cultural origin stories. To some, they merely signal the start of summer. Depending on your culture, a firefly that visits your home is said to be a good omen. Their presence may indicate a healthy environment that attracts good fortune and wealth! Having a firefly land on you: be proud of yourself. Fireflies symbolize inner light and self-discovery, encouraging us to delve inward to find our inherent wisdom and purity''.
