You Left Me to Die!
3D Render by midnight_star117A shortened version of this scene from my stories Enjoy!
She was exhausted. The days' court was draining with the number of decisions that needed made by her subjects.
Jalyne walked to her apartment, head bowed in thought. She walked through the luxurious apartment within the citadel to her bedroom. Still concentrating on the issues at present, she turned the knobs and entered. As she slipped silently into her own quarters, Jalyne turned to close the door, ignoring her surrounding. The click of the closing door made her inhale deeply. The empress raised her head, eyes narrowed.
Someone was here.
Jalyne turned slowly to face her intruder, expressionless. The shadow turned from the balcony and waited. She stepped in front of him and lightly nodded, acknowledging his presence.
"Vatia du vante?" she asked sternly. "Vya ta heri?"
He didn't respond.
Jalyne stepped behind him, caressing his overcoat. She was slow in her movements not to startle the young god.
"You have the nerve to appear here, Azarian." she breathed, leaning into his ear. She continued her stately pace, feathery touching his shoulders, but paused near his left side.
"Sorylia" he finally spoke. "Jalyneka" He raised his heterochromia eyes to hers.
"Empressiea." Jalyne sharply retorted. "Jalynemidenovia e Nehaviendria."
"Empressiea." Azarian corrected, keeping his eyes on her.
Jalyne kept her gaze, but something snapped within her. Her right hand glided up the sleeve to behind his ear. Within a hearbeat, Jalyne pulled him closer, eyes glaring into his.
"You left me to die!" she quietly seethed. "You left me at the temple of Malenkeinth!"
This was expected. Azarian knew this would happen and waited, not making any sudden moves. He stared into her eyes, taken aback at what he saw. It wasn't the anger or frustration he saw.
It was her pain.
"I should send you back to the abyss I pulled you from." Jalyne whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. Azarian naturally pulled her closer as she leaned to him.
"Jalyne," the god pleaded, "let me explain."
"No." the empress whispered. Her lips softly touched his. She pulled away. "not right now." Jalyne kissed him again. Azarian pulled her flush to his body.
