If you look for an authentic souvenir from Portugal you have to visit the Comur in Coimbra, this is a fish cans souvenir shop.

"This store is a must see for every tourist who enjoys walking into shops and buying souvenirs from their travels. Personally, it was the first time seeing fish cans souvenir shops, but I must say they are an unique souvenir/gift. The prices are not the lowest, though the design of the cans is besutiful. The calendar cans, for year of birth, are also an ingenious idea for a gift. The interior of the shop is sophisticated and luxurious, as you will find yourself taking pictures of the golden decorations, paintings and piles of cans." (Alexandru Vasilescu on Google Maps)

I was very surprised when I stood in this souvenir shop and saw the many cans. At first I thought I ended up in the factory outlet of a cannery. Then I thought, it was fishing from the years printed on it, until they explained to me that it was simply a slightly different souvenir with a year printed on it for whatever happened in that year. Birthday, wedding, birth of the child or similar.

So the idea came to me to tell about this special gift or souvenir idea.
