Lucian is the illegitimate son of King Warren, but nevertheless considers himself the rightful heir to the throne of Nordaka. Lucian was given a duchy in order to placate him, but he is feared within the noble hierarchy because of his intellect and cunning.

The sorcerer, Ivhat, became Lucian’s mentor when the latter was but a boy, and Lucian has followed his guidance ever since. Promises of a rise to unlimited power keep Lucian implementing Ivhat’s schemes as they both seek to rule the kingdom in their own way.
