CAESAR PLOTTING THE INVASION OF PARTHIA
3D Render by praedaneJulius Caesar discusses his plans for the invasion of Parthia to the east, to avenge the death of his old ally, Marcus Licinius Crassus and the massacre of Crassus' legions. Caesar intended to send his great nephew, Octavian (later to be the Emperor Augustus) ahead to serve as his contubernalis, or military cadet, to begin recruiting levies of auxiliaries. Mark Anthony would remain behind in Rome, to help govern in Caesar's name, a fact which probably would not have pleased Anthony, who preferred soldiering to politics. But Caesar would be assassinated before any of these plans came to fruition...
