3D Render by EverwildLet me start this off with an offering of gratitude: thank you always for your views, your likes and awards, and especially your comments.
Sometimes, when I'm migrating an image over here, there's a small part of me that wonders if I could take what I know now and improve on what I did then. Sometimes, I even give it a try. Not today, though. Stonemason makes a lot of really beautiful environments. Some of my favs.
When I started this journey, the best advice someone gave me was, "Remember, we're not trying to *eradicate* the shadows; just control them." I still have about a decade of catching up to do. Apparently in my asset library, too. Everyone I know seems to have a library over 10K assets. I'm still under 6K.
Be safe. Be strong.
Be well,
Eve

I think we all have that. I know I sometimes get that feeling when looking at older renders.

I haven't looked, I know it's over the 1 TB mark. I'm also scared to think of how much money that was...

Wed, Mar 19Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this curiosity. And yeh .... it's certainly not a cheap hobby, is it? Thanks for coming and sharing your thoughts.

Love the composition and the DoF.
A few days ago somebody liked a piece from 2021. And though I just caught a glimpse of what I did then (and in combination with a Slipknot clothing prop I just had bought), I made the same render - or rather copied the theme and idea to see what it would look like without making it a true remake.
In the end I decided that I liked both and was happy that they also looked different.
I have long given up quantifying (or thinking about what I might have spent) my runtime and luckily I have a rather graphic memory - so I know, when creating, that there must be the right prop to use. Somewhere. If I could only find it. (Loosing part of my runtime and having to install a lot of my content again didn't help and I am still reloading textures, figures and stuff from various websites).

Sat, Mar 22It's a sunk cost, anyhow, and if it brings you enjoyment, well worth it. I feel like I can do better now because I knew nothing at all when I started. I still haven't tapped deeply into what I can do with Daz or with 3D outside of Daz and I've barely scratched the surface of Photoshop. Which is where I think most of my curiosity comes from (and yes, I see the rest of you as far more advanced because of it. Ya'll have been at this a while longer -- well. I expect, anyhow).
Thanks, Maru! Always lovely to exchange thoughts and ideas with you.

Fantastic composition, and that depth of field is superb. I Wonder what she is thinking about ?

Sun, Mar 23I could totally tell you what she's thinking. She's also blind, but learning how to convey that in art has been a challenge. She's a very skilled healer, though, and uses echo location to get around. She also has one or two very dedicated assistants to help her around the grounds where she works.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I appreciate them (even if it took me a few busy days to loop back around to reply). I'm such a slacker. But never intentionally, I swears!

I am very bad at advice so it’s cool that there are those who are. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and, from my perspective, you have come a million miles with your imagery. Your writing has always been the best I’ve seen…ever. But I know there must be someone out there who feels the same about your writing as well.

Tue, Mar 25Man I hope that makes sense. I’m trying to say good things and if a thought that I wasn’t entered in, get rid of those thoughts.

Tue, Mar 25It's hard to believe it has been almost 4 years since I posted my first 3D scene to the Daz gallery. I remember spending hours in your gallery trying to break down how you did your scenes. I remember that yours and Kibosh's, Splats', and like 3 (Lagaches!) others were the metrics by which I measured my progress. My mentor, an RP buddy at the time, stressed two things. One was the bit about light and shadows, the other was about post production editing. It does make a huge difference.
It's Splats' fault I'm writing stories again (and working on novels). I really just wanted to turn the Nexus of Nyn into a gaming environment where people could come RP and play if they wanted. The novel from NanoWrimo 2023 is now 3 novels in progress, with about 190K (more or less) words worth of work. I'd be done with them if I were more disciplined and didn't split my attention between the writing and the worldbuilding for that gaming environment. The idea was always that I'd write the "rules" and folks who needed that structure but wanted to build their own worlds, could do so within the rules and laws of the Webweaver's Universe.
Your appreciation for my writing inspires me to write and to share more. Thank you for your kindness and support all these last 4 years, Thomas. I'ma be here quietly propping you up in your writing endeavors, too. But, if you get stuck, poke me in dms. I will happily do what I can to help! <3 Be well!
