Tue, Mar 25Thanks, Glad you like it
In the future i hope to tackle one of his short stories, but i have to git gud first and then there's the issue of picking a story to work on >.< but fingers crossed i guess

Good lighting is such a beast, isn't it? Especially when you wanna add magical elements. I look forward to finding out how he got the scar (?) on his cheek. Keep up the good work!

Wed, Mar 26Thanks for your words of encouragement, and yes It really is ! I've heard say that lighting can make or break a good scene, and this is certainly bearing out to be true, but it's a learning curve that i'm willing to put some time into, and hopefully better myself at it.
As for the scar, Well lets just say that after becomming increasingly disillusioned with what he perceived to be the falling morals of the world, He (For a time) left our plane of existance and this scar is one of the physical embodiments of the many trails of the physical and metaphysical that he has endured. Perhaps in time we will learn more from whence he has returned
But things are looking bleak for us at this moment, Let us pray that there is still some sliver of humanity that can bring him (and us) back from the brink of doom

Wed, Mar 26Oh, yes. Humanity does have a way of eating its own tail from time-to-time, and not in a good way. I look forward to seeing his story unfold in visual art and those stories (yay for stories!). You'll "git gud" (love that expression) just by doing, so welcome to the insanity?
If you haven't already discovered him on your own, Rauko has a great YouTube channel for Daz 3D (especially lighting) with a lot of fabulous tutorials. He's good at showing how, but also explaining why things work or don't work. He has everything from a start up series to advanced uses and I've gotten loads of information from him. I'd also recommend Dreamlight3D on Youtube. Although he only has a few videos, the lighting ones are pretty succinct and hit details on the hows and whys. I have a few others I'd recommend even though some of them are a couple of years outdated. They still have valuable information.
Cheers!

Thu, Mar 27Thanks very much for the YouTube suggestions, I'm actually just about to watch Rauko's latest video
I think i've seen a few of Dreamlight3D's ones too, Someone else i have recently found is Generation3dX, He goes into great detail although his videos are generally 30 mins plus, and having a (VERY) active BC to walk & keep entertained along with working shifts, theres never enough hours in the day :/
But thanks again for your help, looking forward to seeing your next render, and more stories to come !

Fri, Mar 28I've watched a couple of Generation3DX videos now -- thanks for the recommendation. Well worth the watch. I liked his breakdown of the types of hair and the one about picking hairdos by face shape.
This is a fantastic series of scenes. It's great fun to see the radical changes between one scene and the other!
