3D Render by ExcessiveSo it turns out that if you want your hands and arms to be outside of your giant Doctor Strange style cloak, you have about ten frames of simulation to get them outside before the cloak falls far enough that they will be tangled inside, so a short animation to move the arms and hands safely outside during dynamics sim is necessary. Video games avoid this crap by having huge capsule collision proxies and more complicated tricks and lol no we won't be doing any of that for a freebie I'm smashing together in a couple of days, no thanks
