Mon, Apr 21This took about 3 or 3 and a half hours to reach the 25000 samples limit, that hair tho with multiple lights takes so long. And what are you having trouble with in low light, is it just lighting in general or the issuse's like noise that you get with dark renders?

Mon, Apr 21okay fair enough I max out my renders at 1k samples, maybe 2 when i have more patience o.o
i'm guessing its G9 mainly hair, takes me ages to render those out too
Yes I can't get good lighting even if my life depended on it, are you running hdri's or do you manually do lighting? I just can't seem to get that nice soft lighting.. Your lighting in renders are fantastic.

Mon, Apr 21It is G8 hair, im not very keen on G9. I do the main lighting manualy but for fill lighting i sometimes use a hdri. The main lighting is usually the daz spotlights but in the setting for them i change it from pointlight to rectangle and make them big as that helps with soft lighting is too have big lights. But if i have a scene where a hdri background is needed i usually dim it a little and still add manual lights as i find hdri's can be harsh. Your lighting in your renders looks good. And thank you very much for the compliment:) Maybe i should create a lighting tutorial lol, one thing i would say is look on the youtube at rembrandt lighting but for photography and not daz or rendering in general, one good playlist is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuReQyMP8EfpPyI0WkAKWWfrajt9eO9Fp . it aint my'n so there is a lot of useless stuff in there too.

Mon, Apr 21Wicked mate, i did do the spotlights rectangle trick in a few of my renders, but switched to hdri, will switch back to manual mode and see the difference, I find hdri's abit difficult to control and find the right one.
Appreciate the playlist mate, cheers for the help!
