The sun was shining on them, covering the temple pool in a gentle, golden warmth. Prachi stretched out on her towel, her arms flung wide as if trying to soak up every ray, while Ana snuck up between her legs, settling on her warm body with a contented sigh. The pool’s emerald water shimmered in rich hues, framed by ancient, weathered stone carvings and lush greenery that guarded this forgotten sanctuary.

For once, Prachi wasn’t talking. She simply stared up at the dappled sky, content that Ana was lying on top her, her fingers idly tracing invisible shapes in the air. She wrapped her legs around Ana and playfully held her closer. The quiet rhythm of Ana’s breath beside her, the faint, steady beat of their hearts overlapping—it all blended into a single, shared stillness.

It was a fragment of time that defied its brevity. The sun dipped beneath the treetops, and the shadows grew longer, and their shared moment passed but the moment is theirs forever, as the light began to fade.
