As suddenly as he entered her life, John was gone.

No warning, no explanation—just absence, hollow and unanswered.

Julianna buried herself in her studies—Behavioral Neuroscience, Applied Biochemistry—disciplines she naturally gravitated to, instinctually wanting to know more. Academia gave her structure, something constant, even if John had vanished into some unknown place.

She wasn’t worried. Not really.

Cosplay became more than an escape—it was a lens into perception.

Her professors watched with infatuation, eager to see more of her beyond lecture halls, beyond theory. Drawn to her energy, her presence, they gravitated toward her, captivated by the effortless pull of youth. It wasn’t admiration—it was hunger, veiled in fascination.

A carefully chosen character—naive, wide-eyed—and they became authoritative, eager to dominate. A more nuanced role—demanding, and suddenly they became attentive, eager to please.

They thought they were seducing her.

But with their guards down, the seducers were being seduced.

The professors talked about decision-making models, patterns of influence, the mechanics of human behavior, in lecture halls—all the while, they were subjects of their own studies at the cosplay photoshoots.
