The jeepney is one of the Philippines' iconic forms of public transportation. It's an aluminum vehicle, often with smooth tires, highly polluting but excessively decorated to suit its owner.

A jeepney has a destination marked on the windshield. Unless you're a regular, you don't know where the line goes, and there are no stopping points. To board, you should signal the driver, and to get off, you should shout "Para po!" ("Para" comes from the Spanish "parada" - the Philippines was a Spanish colony for 350 years -, which means "stop," and "po" is a polite little word for the person you're talking to).
