Piracy Is Not Rebellion

It’s someone’s sleepless night. Someone’s skipped meals.
Someone’s rent, still pending. It’s the silence after betrayal…
when a creator realizes the world doesn’t clap for effort, it just takes from it. Piracy doesn’t make you smart. It makes you forget how to build.
How to respect. How to value. And the more you steal, the further you walk from originality, until you're not a creator… not even a collector… just a leech.
Support isn't charity. It's saying, “I see you. I believe in what you made.
And if you can’t say that with your wallet, at least don’t insult the art by stealing it. Because if you can't afford to pay, the least you can afford is integrity.

I've made an analogy on some of my past renders along the lines of, "The creators and artists of all these amazing morphs, assets, etc. are the ones supplying the ingredients for my renders. Without them I can't cook anything."
I'm slowly trying to learn Blender, at least, to see if one day I too can create a morph or asset others can use.
But until then, I'm will always support all the talented creators and fellow artist.
I smile every time I ope DIM with my 1300+ items and think, "Yep, I really did buy ALL those assets".

I always buy my assets. I respect the work that modelers and texture artists do way too much to even think about piracy. I work hard to make my art with the same products that they work hard to create. I often "kitbash" (a new term for an old 3D artist) but I still pay for everything. It's the least I can do.

It’s not just about buying...it’s about respecting the soul, time, and sweat poured into every piece.

It's a contentious, multifaceted issue to be sure. In this particular case I agree with you because it's robbing the artists directly.
Don't want to get into a long diatribe, or risk a debate in comments sections. But it gets to be a messy thing.
FWIW I do think, for our purposes we need more info on how to succeed in self-advocacy in the areas of independent contracting and freelance work. Execs on the other end don't necessarily have our best interests at heart, either--not trying to offend, just stating it like it is. I speak from having been self employed before which is why digital artistry appeals to me. However not everyone in digital artistry is the entrepreneurial type.
I agree with you here. There's more angles in other areas to be considered, though.
