King Arthur
3D Render by SeannyOgThe armor is an intention hodgepodge of armor styles from the High Middle Ages to Late Middle Ages because King Arthur is first and foremost a legend, and attempts at uncovering a "historic" King Arthur are like attempts at finding Earth's second moon, the things you'll find are interesting but no answer can be found because there isn't one.
Most of the armor is Gothic or German, as German scribes and poets did contribute some to the Arthurian Cycle. But more over French armor tended to follow elements of the German style, and particularly the "scallop" breastplate was a favored French flair, and the French developed much of the Arthurian/Grail Romances' body. The hourglass style gauntlets were favored by the English well after they had fallen out of style on mainland Europe. The unusually tall bascinet is indicative of the Irish who made some contributions to the overall Arthurian legends. And lastly the red dragon helmet crest for Wales were the legends utimately stem from.
For the sword Caledfwlch, or Excalibur, I used the design from John Boorman's Excalibur because I love that movie in spite of its flaws. And while Nigel Terry will always be King Arthur in my mind, I really loved David Lowery's The Green Knight, and the face is vaguely modeled after Sean Harris who played King Arthur in it.
The skin is a tweaked version of the Omnibase shader found in Uncanny Valet's Vadim
