The night swallowed her car whole.

180 km/h and climbing—her Ghost Roadster Spyder shredded the highway like a whisper no one was supposed to hear. The dash lit up with telemetry in hues that danced like cartel warpaint: green gear circle, redline RPM, oil pressure flirting with the edge.

But Alanna wasn’t looking at the gauges. She was watching the road for ghosts.

The van had been clean. Too clean. No blood, no struggle, no message, not even a broken tail light.

Her hands tightened on the wheel.

Who would be that brazen? That precise?

Not one of the old guards—too messy.

Not a freelancer—this job needed inside patterns.

Someone with access. Someone who wanted her seen as vulnerable.

The other bosses would tear her apart if she didn’t bring substance, and she had none.

Just gaps.

She flicked a switch and holograms of familiar faces scattered across the dash—Mendoza, Kell, Bao, the ones she trusted least.

Maybe this was a message meant only for her.

Maybe someone had cracked the ledger and wanted Radiance out of the dark.

Maybe... maybe it was punishment for a secret she hadn’t told yet.
