Halloween Pinup Tutorial
3D Render by SolisphotographyI had forgotten about this one. I built it last Halloween but never rendered it for some reason. It has a lot of post-production work but still pretty simple.
First of all, I rendered each light source as a separate canvas so I had more control in Photoshop. Each image was opened as its own layer and converted to a smart object. Then I adjusted the exposure of each layer. I set the layer blend modes to Linear Dodge (Add). I used a Camera Raw filter on some layers to adjust the contrast and other little tweaks. For the candle and pumpkin layers (shown together here, but they are separate in my file), I reduced the dehaze and clarity to achieve a slight bloom glow. On the fill layer, I masked off areas I didn't want the light to hit, most notably the whole left side of the frame.
After everything was balanced the way I liked, I color-toned the image in ACR and then converted it from 32-bit to 8-bit.
