This is inspired by the beginning scene of the second series of my writings.

She waited on her balcony. The night's full moons glistening in the sky as she looked out into the city. She was dressed for battle instead of being dressed for slumber. Her feathered headdress wavered lightly in the night breeze.

Jalyne glanced to her left, eyes picking up the faint outline of the adjoining room's door. A quick scan revealed that her advisor was in a deep sleep. She expected that, as she was the one who turned his mind to slumber.

Empress Jalyne had a mission to accomplish and it didn't involve the knowledge of Juren, her advisor, nor the approval of the Council.

She would not be forced into marriage with another she did not like and despised how he ruled his empire. It went against her upbringing, her morals and her emotions.

Jalyne looked outward and furrowed her brows in concentration. She brought her right hand up to her left temple and swiped it outward, creating the Gate of which she would soon walk through.

Concentrating again and clenching her fists, both wrists made small circles at her side. Opening her eyes, the Light of the Heavens shone brightly. Time appeared to stop at she gazed at the scene opposite of her.

Jalyne did this. A world created at the last moment in a heated battle with a change of heart. She couldn't condemn him to nothingness. It just wasn't her.

She strode through the Gate to the world beyond and marveled at the eclipse of the red dwarf sun which never ended. The moon was forever gravitational locked with the sun. The dark gray and black leaves covered the trees and swayed lightly in the breeze. The night grass was tall and everything around her was in shades of black. Light appeared to have no hold here.

Helreevaen.

Here, she would find him. Here, she would ask him. Here, a bargain would be made that no one would know and no one would understand why. Here, Jalyne would find the one she upended in battle and condemned an eternity to live. Here, she sought darkness.
