3D Render by chococoWe frequently reminisce about the pleasurable moments from the past, as these fond recollections and exhilarating experiences enrich our lives, offering a source of motivation during times of weariness and inspiring us to aspire beyond our current circumstances. It is conceivable that our inclination towards retro fashion is rooted in this sentiment.
In the context of this particular project, I drew inspiration from an array of historical retro styles, including the feminine aesthetics of the 1960s, the flamboyant disco culture of the 1970s, the rebellious rock chic and punk influences of the 1980s, the hip-hop trends of the 1990s, and the Y2K fashion of the early 2000s. The outcome of this inspiration materialized in the form of a distinct pant suit.
This unique pant suit consists of a cropped top and low-rise wide cargo pants, serving as a nostalgic homage to the fashion sensibilities of the 1990s and the early 2000s. To infuse vibrancy into the garments, I incorporated dynamic pastel tones reminiscent of the 1970s disco era. While the ensemble inherently represents a loose-fitting casual streetwear style, I opted to elevate its perceived value by employing opulent materials, such as tweed, silk lace, and velvet. Simultaneously, the integration of numerous metallic trims lends the outfit a distinct punk-inspired and robust style identity. The amalgamation of metal chains and pearls further enhances the ensemble's unique character.
By drawing inspiration from a diverse range of retro styles, my creative process was fueled with aspirations, allowing me to transcend conventional design boundaries. I aspire that this pant suit will imbue individuals with a sense of positivity and hope, invoking a feeling of empowerment and resilience.
