3D Render by Blue Flame"The Day the Earth Stood Still" is a science fiction movie that was first released in 1951. There was a remake in 2008. In the movie, an alien space ship lands on the National Mall in Washington DC. The military immediately surrounds it with soldiers and tanks. The humanoid alien comes out saying he's no threat, but a jumpy soldier shoots him. The message the alien brings is that people on earth have become too violent, and now have the atom bomb. The other planets have decided that the people of earth must either stop all hostilities and be peaceful, or earth will be destroyed.
