I always found horror to be more pronounced when it exuded a kind of innocence while looking unearthly. Like Salem's Lot in 1979 that blew everyone's mind. Well, mine atleast as I was a teen then. So a feeling of impending violence masked around an innocent being. I hope I have managed to capture this essence in my artwork.

Story:

He was always warned not to loiter after dark. But that was when he was a kid. Feeling smug in his 'branded couture', he figured that now as an adult, adolescent to most, it was his duty to escort all the fine women of the night.

He turned a corner and noted the tunnel leading to an underground parking lot was less than well lit. City workers were lacking commitment to refurbishment and maintenance as they felt underappreciated from the lack of generous remuneration. More and more public areas were left dilapidated.

Kenny wondered if he maybe should run for Mayor.

Nah man, don’t wanna be a magnet for old grandmas. A babe-magnet like me… should be a Senator. He concluded with a smile as he quickstepped down the stairs just when it began to pour.

He sprinted toward the entry to stop from getting drenched. More than that he did not want his well-styled moussed hair getting flat.

Ugh! This always happens when I have to look good for the ladies, he grumbled as he tried to flick away excess water droplets on his denim shirt. It was around then that he heard footsteps echoing from behind the tunnel.

He turned, and that is when he saw very pale girl walking toward him in the flickering light. It almost felt like she was gliding by as a carpet of fog followed behind her. Spray of rain fell in through the ceiling ventilation.

As she came closer he noted her glowing pair of eyes on him. He was mesmerized as he heard her ask,

"Mister, can you help me?"
