A group of tomb raiders venture deep into the tropical jungles of Xaan, in Yucatán, to enter an unknown archaeological site, driven only by the desire to extract precious stones. They ignore the locals’ warnings not to desecrate the area, as it is said that ancient shamans sealed away spiritual demons there. Anyone who dares to loot the site risks unleashing these spirits and suffering their torment.

Inspired by old archaeological documentaries and films like Temple of Doom and Apocalypse Now, I wanted to capture that same atmosphere of horror within abandoned temples. During the process, I studied various examples of ancient stone statues and different types of lighting to recreate the mood. The statues and temples were modeled in Blender, the textures were created in Substance Painter, and the final touches were done in Photoshop, adding that classic film grain for a cinematic look.
