'At what cost her riches'

What has she given up in place of riches?
Sitting in a semi ornate room, yet it is void of any decoration or furniture.
The sun shines brightly out, yet she'd rather sit away from the brightness of the window.
Lovely and dressed in fine lingere, yet she smiles not.
