The Deception of the Night

Yin Lu had no idea that the being that surrounded her was no longer human. The air was heavy with the scent of its magic, an invisible veil that slipped over her perception like warm breath over skin. Under this spell, horror appeared to her as beauty, corruption as promise.

The moonlight fell softly on him - and in her eyes shimmered a face of sublime, almost divine grace. In truth, however, beneath this illusion crept a body, distorted and cruel, a face carved by centuries of hunger. But Yin Lu saw only the delicate line of a smile that made her believe she was desired.

His touch was like music, soft and deceptive. She felt carried, almost redeemed - as if the night itself had decided to embrace her. Her heart was beating furiously, intoxicated by the magic and sweet poison of the moment.

She thought she was meeting love, but she was kissing the abyss. And while the moon stood above the mists of the world, the darkness began to stir within her - quietly, inexorably, irrevocably.
